Heart of Midlothian Football Club
Heart of Midlothian F.C. is a football club from Edinburgh, Scotland which plays in the Scottish Premier League. It is one of the two principal clubs in the city, the other being Hibernian. The club is managed by Graham Rix, appointed on November 7, 2005 following the departure of George Burley on October 22, 2005. Vladimir Romanov recently became the major shareholder of Hearts when he took over Chris Robinson's stake. Hearts (the common abbreviation) were founded in 1874 and are named after a dance hall, which in turn took its name from the novel The Heart of Midlothian by Sir Walter Scott. They initially played at the Meadows, Powburn and Powderhall before moving to the Gorgie area in 1881. They moved to their current Tynecastle site in 1886.
Georgian House - Edinburgh
The Georgian House is part of Robert Adam's masterpiece of urban design, Charlotte Square. It dates from 1796, when those who could afford it began to escape from the cramped, squalid conditions of Edinburgh's Old Town to settle in the fashionable New Town. The first owner, John Lamont, 18th Chief of the Clan Lamont, lived here with his family until 1815. The house's collections of beautiful china, shining silver, paintings and furniture all reflect the domestic surroundings and social conditions of the times. In the audio-visual room, video programmes describe the history of the New Town and in more dramatic form A Day in the Life of The Georgian House.
Edinburgh Castle
A majestic landmark which dominates the capital city's skyline just as it has dominated Scotland's long and colourful history. The tiny St Margaret's Chapel, Edinburgh's oldest building, dates from the 1100s.
Gladstones Land - Edinburgh

The Granton Centre - Edinburgh
The Granton Centre is the major store for the National Museums of Scotland. Discover thousands of weird and wonderful objects all under one roof! Important conservation work is carried out, preparing many of these items for display in our six museums across Scotland. You can also find out about the Centre's vital role in saving scientific evidence for research. The Granton Centre is open for guided tours every Tuesday at 10.30am and 2pm. Visits must be booked at least a day in advance. There is ample free parking. There is a level entrance. A wheelchair is available for loan at no charge. Floors are accessible by lift. There is an adapted toilet. Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other recognised assistance dogs are admitted.
Hibernian Football Club
Hibernian Football Club (informally known as "Hibs") is a Scottish football club from Edinburgh. Along with rivals Hearts, they represent Edinburgh in the Scottish Premier League. They are currently managed by Tony Mowbray. The club was founded in 1875 by Irish born football enthusiasts, and currently plays at the Easter Road ground in Leith. Hibs originally played at a ground near the Meadows, in the south of Edinburgh's Old Town but moved to Easter Road in the 1880s. They were the first major club in Scotland formed out of the immigrant Irish Catholic population (hence the name, from Hibernia, the Latin name for Ireland). As the first such team, their example led to the creation of Dundee Hibernian (now Dundee United) and Celtic.

Dalmeny House
When Dalmeny House was completed in 1817, it marked a great departure in Scottish architecture; its Tudor Gothic style, with its highly-decorated chimneys and crenellations, looked back toward fanciful 16th-century English mansions, such as Hampton Court. The house was designed by a University friend of the 4th Earl of Rosebery, William Wilkins, who would go on to design the National Gallery in London and much of King's College, Cambridge - parts of which closely resemble Dalmeny. With its Gothic Great Hall and corridor, its large, formal regency apartments and its sweeping views across the Firth of Forth, it is a house which combines comfort and romanticism, and which produced many imitations throughout Scotland.

Royal Highland Centre
The Royal Highland Centre is Scotland's largest exhibition venue and showground. Located 8 miles (13 km) west of Edinburgh, it hosts everything from trade exhibitions to rock concerts. Owned by the Royal Highland Agricultural Society of Scotland, which was founded in 1784 and is headquartered at Ingliston House within the Centre, it is the venue for a number of large events throughout the year, including the annual Royal Highland Show. The Royal Highland Centre also provides a home for the 'Cars of the Stars' Motor Museum, a hotel, offices of various agricultural charities, and parts are rented to various other business activities, for example a motor auction company.

Murrayfield Stadium (known as BT Murrayfield Stadium for sponsorship reasons, or usually just known as Murrayfield) is a sports stadium located in the west end of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Royal Botanic Garden
The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is a scientific centre for the study of plants, their diversity and conservation, as well as a popular tourist attraction. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) was founded in the 17th century as a physic garden, growing medicinal plants. This first Garden was in St Anne's Yard, part of the Holyrood Palace grounds, and occupied an area the size of a tennis court.
